Préambule
La présente charte, adoptée le 8 juin 2023 par le conseil de la Fondation Hans Wilsdorf, exprime quelques orientations stratégiques de la fondation.
Elle entre en vigueur immédiatement.

Les derniers propos du fondateur en séance du conseil, six mois avant son décès, ont été pour rappeler que les revenus accrus dont la fondation bénéficierait à l’avenir devraient lui permettre de développer son œuvre en vue de réaliser ce qui était le but de la vie même du fondateur, à savoir servir l’humanité.
La mission de la fondation est de mettre en œuvre cette générosité, à l’intérieur du cadre statutaire voulu par le fondateur.
Article 2 – Positionnement
De manière générale, la fondation entend assumer un rôle de mécène voire d’initiateur, mais pas celui d’acteur ou de promoteur des projets qu’elle soutient.
Elle veille à ce que les projets importants qu’elle soutient s’inscrivent dans les objectifs de politique publique.
Tout en restant au bénéfice de son exonération fiscale pour cause d’utilité publique, la fondation contribue au financement des infrastructures de la collectivité en s’acquittant des impôts cantonaux, communaux et fédéraux sur une base volontaire.
Article 3 – Durabilité
La fondation s’efforce, dans son activité et ses allocations, de mettre en œuvre des critères élevés de durabilité.
Article 4 – Pôle social/santé et formation
La fondation contribue au renforcement de la cohésion sociale à Genève, par des soutiens individuels et institutionnels.
Elle facilite l’adaptation personnelle et collective aux évolutions sociales, économiques, démographiques et environnementales, notamment en soutenant des projets structurants.
Article 5 – Pôle culture et humanitaire
La fondation contribue au développement d’un cadre propice à la création et à la diffusion artistiques, en soutenant les institutions culturelles genevoises et en permettant l’accessibilité de tous les publics aux différentes formes d’art.
D’autre part, la fondation soutient les collaborations et les projets des acteurs genevois de l’humanitaire dans les domaines de la santé mondiale, des droits humains, de l’éducation et des actions en faveur de la paix. Elle encourage également les liens entre la Genève locale et la Genève internationale.
Article 6 – Pôle animaux et écosystèmes
La fondation contribue, sans restriction géographique, au développement d’un monde où la biodiversité et les sociétés humaines prospèrent conjointement. Elle soutient des initiatives favorisant l’intégrité écologique et renforce la communauté des acteurs dans ce domaine.

It entered into force immediately.

At a board meeting six months before his death, the founder's last words were a reminder that the increased income the foundation would enjoy in the future should be directed to the achievement of the founder's lifetime goal: that is, to serve humanity.
The foundation's mission is to put this generosity to work, within the statutory framework set out by the founder.
Article 2 – Positioning
In general, the foundation assumes the role of funder and, on occasion, instigator. It does not play a role in the delivery or promotion of the projects it supports.
It ensures that the vital work it supports is in line with public policy objectives.
While retaining the tax exempt status that results from its public utility, the foundation contributes to the financing of community infrastructure by choosing to pay all cantonal, municipal and federal taxes.
Article 3 – Sustainability
The foundation strives to ensure its activities and allocations meet high standards of sustainability.
Article 4 – Social/health and education
The foundation aims to strengthen social cohesion in Geneva, through individual and institutional support. It facilitates personal and collective adaptation to social, economic, demographic and environmental change, with a particular focus on structural projects.
Article 5 – Culture and humanitarian aid
Through its support of cultural organisations in Geneva, the foundation helps ensure a vibrant artistic environment, accessible to all, in which creativity can flourish.
The foundation also supports collaborations and projects from Geneva-based organisations in the fields of global health, human rights, education and peace-building, encouraging links between local and international Geneva.
Article 6 – Animals and ecosystems
The foundation works globally to contribute to the development of a world in which biodiversity and human societies collectively thrive. It supports initiatives that promote ecological integrity and strengthen the community of actors working in this field.
